Rhipidocladum martinezii is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 22.1°C and precipitation of 1024 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~215.4), varying from 32.7°C in the warmest month to 10.7°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~71.6). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~93.2), varying from 393 mm in the wettest month to 1 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 928 mm) and driest (totaling 9 mm) quarters being 23.6°C and 21.1°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (28.5°C) and coolest (12.1°C) quarters being 312 mm and 21 mm, respectively.
