Otatea ximenae is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 19.9°C and precipitation of 1365 mm. Temperatures show moderate seasonality (standard deviation ~147.1), varying from 29.2°C in the warmest month to 10.4°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~69.2). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~90.1), varying from 457 mm in the wettest month to 3 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 1354 mm) and driest (totaling 13 mm) quarters being 20.6°C and 18.8°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (24.7°C) and coolest (15.9°C) quarters being 354 mm and 95 mm, respectively.
