Merostachys leptophylla is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 22.6°C and precipitation of 1295 mm. Temperatures show moderate seasonality (standard deviation ~166.2), varying from 29.1°C in the warmest month to 15.4°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~64.1). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~42.2), varying from 291 mm in the wettest month to 14 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 776 mm) and driest (totaling 45 mm) quarters being 23.5°C and 21.1°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (26°C) and coolest (15.4°C) quarters being 390 mm and 223 mm, respectively.
