Merostachys kunthii is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 21.8°C and precipitation of 1445 mm. Temperatures show moderate seasonality (standard deviation ~189.3), varying from 29.1°C in the warmest month to 13.4°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~62.9). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~56.6), varying from 287 mm in the wettest month to 4 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 808 mm) and driest (totaling 18 mm) quarters being 23.4°C and 19.8°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (25.6°C) and coolest (16.1°C) quarters being 497 mm and 178 mm, respectively.
