Chusquea windischii is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 18.2°C and precipitation of 1428 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~322.8), varying from 27.3°C in the warmest month to 8.6°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~52). Precipitation shows relatively little seasonality (coefficient of variation ~19.7), varying from 174 mm in the wettest month to 81 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 483 mm) and driest (totaling 259 mm) quarters being 22.2°C and 14.9°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (23.5°C) and coolest (13.2°C) quarters being 447 mm and 309 mm, respectively.
