Chusquea talamancensis is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 17°C and precipitation of 2884 mm. Temperatures show relatively little seasonality (standard deviation ~55.1), varying from 22.7°C in the warmest month to 11.2°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~81.4). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~47.8), varying from 472 mm in the wettest month to 30 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 1201 mm) and driest (totaling 114 mm) quarters being 17°C and 16.8°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (26.1°C) and coolest (11.1°C) quarters being 718 mm and 558 mm, respectively.
