Chusquea spadicea is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 17°C and precipitation of 2000 mm. Temperatures show relatively little seasonality (standard deviation ~31.8), varying from 22.4°C in the warmest month to 12°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~89.2). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~35.7), varying from 353 mm in the wettest month to 67 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 960 mm) and driest (totaling 236 mm) quarters being 16.7°C and 17.1°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (28.9°C) and coolest (8.5°C) quarters being 508 mm and 603 mm, respectively.
