Chusquea riosaltensis is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 20.3°C and precipitation of 1359 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~224.3), varying from 28.7°C in the warmest month to 10.4°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~62.4). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~80.3), varying from 265 mm in the wettest month to 13 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 724 mm) and driest (totaling 46 mm) quarters being 21.9°C and 17.3°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (24°C) and coolest (16.7°C) quarters being 586 mm and 54 mm, respectively.
