Chusquea kleinii is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 18.3°C and precipitation of 1455 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~268.5), varying from 26.9°C in the warmest month to 8.8°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~57.1). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~46.6), varying from 264 mm in the wettest month to 19 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 742 mm) and driest (totaling 59 mm) quarters being 21.1°C and 15.4°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (25.7°C) and coolest (10.2°C) quarters being 540 mm and 199 mm, respectively.
