Chusquea grandiflora is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 23.3°C and precipitation of 3032 mm. Temperatures show relatively little seasonality (standard deviation ~50.9), varying from 28.7°C in the warmest month to 18.1°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~82.7). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~47.3), varying from 697 mm in the wettest month to 2 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 1892 mm) and driest (totaling 11 mm) quarters being 23.2°C and 23.3°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (28.5°C) and coolest (16°C) quarters being 670 mm and 742 mm, respectively.
