Chusquea gibcooperi is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 16.2°C and precipitation of 1019 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~218.3), varying from 25.9°C in the warmest month to 5.5°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~63.3). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~69.7), varying from 344 mm in the wettest month to 11 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 778 mm) and driest (totaling 38 mm) quarters being 17.5°C and 13.4°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (26°C) and coolest (10.7°C) quarters being 289 mm and 100 mm, respectively.
