Chusquea aspera is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 26°C and precipitation of 2235 mm. Temperatures show relatively little seasonality (standard deviation ~36.1), varying from 32.1°C in the warmest month to 19.4°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~86.7). Precipitation shows moderate seasonality (coefficient of variation ~43), varying from 311 mm in the wettest month to 62 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 886 mm) and driest (totaling 236 mm) quarters being 26.1°C and 25.4°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (26.5°C) and coolest (25.1°C) quarters being 643 mm and 263 mm, respectively.
