Chusquea argentina is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 6.9°C and precipitation of 1146 mm. Temperatures show considerable seasonality (standard deviation ~441.4), varying from 20.1°C in the warmest month to -3.1°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~50.4). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~54.6), varying from 328 mm in the wettest month to 20 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 799 mm) and driest (totaling 75 mm) quarters being 2°C and 12.4°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (12.8°C) and coolest (1°C) quarters being 133 mm and 495 mm, respectively.
