Aulonemia haenkei is known from localities with an annual mean temperature of 23.3°C and precipitation of 1197 mm. Temperatures show relatively little seasonality (standard deviation ~51.6), varying from 29.8°C in the warmest month to 16.6°C in the coolest (isothermality ratio ~84.9). Precipitation shows considerable seasonality (coefficient of variation ~88), varying from 374 mm in the wettest month to 2 mm in the driest. The mean temperatures of the wettest (totaling 1047 mm) and driest (totaling 9 mm) quarters being 23.7°C and 22.7°C, respectively, and the mean precipitation of the warmest (26.3°C) and coolest (20.2°C) quarters being 463 mm and 100 mm, respectively.
